NC4CN
Russ Harrison
Reidsville, NC

First licensed as an amateur, WN4NCC, in February
1975. I remained a Novice until the fall of '75 when I passed
my Technician with the call, WA4NCC. One month later passed General
and stayed there for close to 27 years. Call, WA4NCC. In 2002
got my Novice call back. Just did not here that many Novice calls
anymore. After 34 years took the Extra test and passed, going
with the call, NC4CN.
My equipment consists mostly of Icom radios: IC-746
PRO; 2 IC-2720's (one base and one moble); IC-207H; Kenwood THG-71
(my oldest radio.) Also have an Ameritron 811H.
The antenna system is very simple. It consists of:
160-80-40-20 inverted V; 10 meter vertical and a 2 meter/440 mhz
vertical for the house IC-2720. I have just about finished building
a 6 meter squalo. Looking to install tower with A3S Cushcraft
beam and 40 meter addon this summer, I hope!
Over the years, I got my private pilots license, became
a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, became a Life
Member of the ARRL, became a VE Examiner, and became an Endowed
Life Member NRA.
It's taken 35 years to get here. But, now I can finally
say: Ready for RETIREMENT and RAGCHEWING.
