2005 ARRL June VHF QSO Party

The Rockingham County Amateur Radio Club took part in the 2005 ARRL June VHF QSO Party which was held June 11 through June 13. This was a awesome event and looks like we have turned out some new 'contesters'. Location for the event was provided by the Rockingham County Repeater Association - W4BJF at the Berrymore Road Repeater Site.

The event started off on Saturday when we started installing antennas at 1:00PM for 50MHz, 144MHz, and 432MHz. After a long afternoon of making contacts we enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs off the grill. Then it was right back to work sending out 'CQ, CQ, CQ'. Operations continued on till about 2:00AM when the bands (and operators) finally give out for the night. Camping was provided on site for a early start back at it on Sunday morning. At the end of the day, we had racked up over 1000 points!

Watch out Field Day 2005....We are ready now!!!!
