Hi and thanks for looking at my bio.

I've been a ham for over 15 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. I operate on most all modes but mainly the various Digital modes. I have always had an interest in computers since my best friend got a Commodore VIC-20 when we were both around 13. So operating the Digital modes came natural to me when they became popular.

For my Fixed Station I'm using an Icom IC-756 Pro III with an Icom AH-4 to tune a K1JEK Grampy "Cobra" antenna. This antenna is a dipole that uses almost 500 feet of wire per leg. Odd and unusual sounding but it does work very well. It's basically a modified version of a folded dipole. On my VHF/UHF Mobile Stations I'm using a Kenwood TM-D700 in one vehicle and a Yaesu FTM-350R for APRS in another vehicle. At home, a Kenwood TM-710A for my APRS station there.

Member of the 30M Digital Group, #1579. Also a W4VEC accredited VE.

I work for Duke Energy as an Electronic/Instrumentation Technician at one of the largest power plants on the east coast.

Hope to work you on the air soon.

73, Trey
