WA3RFE
Mike Mansfield
Reidsville, NC

I have always had a interest in amateur radio due to the influence
at a early age of my Grandfather, (the original WA3RFE) and Uncle
(WA3EFZ). I got the final push to get licenses from my Emergency
Management Coordinator ( KJ4ADZ) after working with him on Critical
Incident Support Unit. http://mosescone.com/body_surgecase.cfm?id=1654
My Original Call was KJ4CZT, I was ecstatic when the FCC granted
me the honor of assuming my Grandfathers call (WA3RFE).
I am a active member of the Rockingham County Amateur Radio
Club N4IV www.rcarc.com. I enjoy the public service aspect of
Amateur Radio. I have a great time helping with the events like
the Reidsville MS Walk, and the Gears & Cheers http://www.gearsandcheers.org/
and Ride the Rock http://fpcridetherock.org/default.htm bike rides.
I am also a weather spotter for the Blacksburg SKYWARN team http://www.wx4rnk.org/
Since I am a Computer nerd it makes sense that you can usually
find me on the digital modes.. PSK31, and RTTY in HF. I also enjoy
working on the Clubs APRS Digipeater (N4IV) and Winlink2000 station
(N4IV-10) in the VHF/UHF
I am working on my wife Susan to get licensed. As you can
see from the picture I my daughter Caroline has showed a lot of
interest in radio. I hope she will also get her ticket when she
gets a little older.
73's and I hope to hear you on the air.
